Perfectly normal.
The bacterial was not in growth phase. It could be caused by
1. high cell density. O.D. can mislead you sometimes because
that can vary for different strains. But don't people
usually use OD 600 (598) to check cell density?
2. the cells were in cold for a period of time.
3. lack of oxygen.

: I transformed a two antibiotic resistant( amp and rifamp) plasmid into E.coli
: BL21(DE3)PlysS cells, and grow it. I found it grows very slow.
: it takes more than one hour for the OD Changing from 0.6 to 0.7 at 546nm.
: I also checked that the slow growth of the cell has nothing to
: do with the concentration of antibiotics. it grows slow without any
: antibiotics in culture.
: it is that normal?
: I know that the antibiotic resistant cell may grow slower. But how come
: it grow so slow even without any antibiotics in culture medium.
: ///confused.
