it's really hard to define, from different point of view one can give different
answers. And each persons work can hardl overlap. For example, I am doing
basic apoptosis pathway research using basically biochemical/molecular biology methods,
i'm a pathology student, and the boss is also affiliated with immunology and
cancer biology, so you can say I'm either one of these fields. The field is so
diverse and overlapping, it's hard to tell what one is doing specificly,
the best way is to decribe one's project, but sometimes it's not appropriate
doing this in such a informal forum.

I think the purpose of this board should be: 1. provide information about
progress in different fields, so we can keep updated and don't need read
too many papers, just a general news in brief style is good enough.
2. technical tips. it's always helpful if somebody can give some support
in technical details and choose of method.
3. last but not least, making friends, which is important for us to build a
network one help another, and making us success in such a hard field for us.
