what we do in our lab is :

after you get the blood, test them before do the experiment,
usually 2nd bleed or 3rd bleed is better than the 1st bleed.
but sometimes 1st bleed is okay, depending on experiments.And
you can reboot the rabbit.

IgM is produced at first and diminishes, IgG is produced second
but still earlier than other three types, and the total amount
IgG is definitely much more than IgM.

Also, if your antibody is not enough, you can try protein A column
to affinity purify more IgG.
if your antibody is not specific enough, you can try run a gel with
your protein,western transfer to membrane, cut the specific band
out and purify your specific IgG.
