DNA repair pathways:
-direct repair
e.g. thymine dimers (DNa photolyase),
DNA adducts caused by alkylating agents (methyltransferases)
-excision repair
base excision repair(BER)
mismatch repair(MMR)
nucleotide excision repair(NER)
-recombinational repair
DNA double-strand break repair: 2 distinct system in eukaryotic cells
1. homologous recombination system
2. non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) system
en, DNA-dependent proptein kinase is required for normal double-strand break
rejoinning activity in mammalian cells. it's a trimeric protein consisting
a kinase catalytic subunit (DNA-PKcs) and a heterodimeric DNA binding
component (Ku70, Ku80).
ah, Ku is really an interesting protein..
【 在 leohawk (leohawk) 的大作中提到: 】
: DNA repair?
: Ku protein mediated non-homologous end joining
: rad52 mediated homologous DNA repair
: Both has mre11, rad50, and Xrs2 homolog work in it
: Cell Cycle arrest? Different stage seem to have different genes carrying out
: this function.
