because of the nature of my work, I just hear a really exciting news. It
is about drug design that produced peptide with almost identical activity
as the cell surface's natural conjugates(an import hormone). Sorry, I don't
think it is appropriate to reveal more details about it.. The peptide is
much, much easier to produce than the real hormone.

I wonder if we can talk about the prospect of this kind of research, I
personally think it is a revolutionary success, it changed the whole way we
can think about receptor-ligand interaction : it is possible to find
something have almost identical function as natural ligand... and it is not
that hard to find it...

there are two kind of ligands, one can only bind to cell surface, one can
enter cell plasma. I think new ways to design drug by testing potential
protein/protein interaction is out there, just there is no successful
examples yet (not sure if this is the right claim).

Can we have a topic on this? I think it is meaningful, info exchange is
great for biological science.
