I agree Neuroscience will be next hot spot, maybe is now, but it's not a good
timing. Great scientist Francis Crick used his last decades to solve
neuroscience problems[links 1,2,3]. However, the problem remains mainly
unknown.
Regarding sciencific reasoning, I believe it's very critical for a PhD, or
scientist. When one had an opportunity to find an unusual stuff, it's required
to use scientific reasoning to discover underneath mechanism, and possible
implications. Postdoc training will build up independence, while PhD training
gives the basis of reasoning. Not all of the current papers/data are true (due
to frauds)or interpretated reasonably. We need to pick up right ones, which
needs one's thinking.
