Thank you all the valuable info.
1. I never connect this phenomenon to apoptosis, coz apoptosis does not happen
upon infection. Actually several paper reported that the infection could
prevent cells against apoptosis induced by some toxins. In most cells, the
infection will lead to unlimited proliferation, and finally the cells get
lysed. (It is a little terrible to see the numerous parasite moving under
microscope :(
2. I tried to stain cell after infection, and most infected cells are negative
for the staining.
3. This phenomenon happens to macrophage, but not to a kind of fibroblast. In
both macrophage and fibroblast, the parasite proliferates rapidly ending with
the total lysing of host cells.
It seems possilbe that the host cells try to die by mitochondrial
depolarization, but fails (may be inhibited by the parasite). I will try to
check whether it happens.
Thank u again.
