First, I assume that you have made your Chapter text as a "Heading"...

Secondly, I suppose you already set Numbering with all your captions,
and the Caption is like Figure [Chapter-number].[number]. For example,
Figure 12.3 means the third figure in chapter 12. all numbers(12
and 3) in your captions are generated automatically.

Then you use the menu command: Insert->Reference->Index and Tables...
go to [Table of Figures] tab, and in the "Caption Lable" field, pick
"Figure" or whatever you select as your caption title. then press OK.

This worked fine with my document.
