还是挺喜欢统计的，虽然不是统计专业的，但上了不少统计的课。可以接触一些不那么难
的而且相对纯粹一点的数学。比会计什么的好多了。

definitely earns more than an accounting master. Actually as far as I know,
Master of Accounting is easy to get you a job, but the salary is among the
lowest, like architecture.

统计和会计还是没法比的。会计起薪低，涨到6万就很难了。在南加州的统计专业，一般2
年内肯定7万以上了。好一点的公司，比如说amgen,一般都8万以上了吧。PhD就更不用说
了，我认识好多都是第二年就奔6位数的。salary.com的数字，我觉得是合理的。

南加一般都是50-60K。

If you like statistics, you'll learn a lot of great ideas in statistics. These
ideas can be used to every aspect of your life. Statistics is not only a tool
, but also a way of thinking. The difference between masters and PhD is that
usually PhD is capable of independent research or development. Masters lack
essential theoretical capability or experience to do complicated jobs. As far
as salary concern, PhD earns much higher than masters. In comparison with
other area, masters in statistics should be in the middle. I know CS w/ 3-4
years could earn up to 150 K. Statistics w/ 3-4 years could earn above 70 K,
depend on geographical area and employment. It's not bad, but not the best for
sure. I also believe, 2007 should be a saturation year for statistics
profession. The US economy is going down and the pharmaceuticals are cutting
investments, but the masters of statistics are increasing exponentially. 2007
or 2008, statistics will become CS a couple of years ago.
