我建议楼主调整一下心态，争取把生物ph.D拿到手，然后do whatever you really
like. Two reasons for this option

1. It looks that graduate study you are doing now is not easy for you. But
maybe you can take it as a challenge, and during the years you will going
it through you will be also building your capabilities as well as confidence
(both could be key for your future career develpment)

2. Most importantly, bench work could be very enjoyable if you can do it in
a very efficient way. Say if most of figures you get could be part of your
manuscript, you gonna feel highly motivated. I am not that kind of person,
but I know there are people doing that way, either publishing CNS or regular
JBC or JI papers in one year or so. So try to read more and think more.
Sometimes, the working style of your PI determines the efficiency of the
benchwork in the lab. But you could be able to make a change. Best
